24 hour towing at Bergen Point, Bayonne, NJ: the bridge approach, the waterfront and the end of the light rail
West 1st Street, the Kill Van Kull waterfront, the numbered streets from 1st up to about 10th, the 8th Street light rail terminus, and the Route 440 ramps that lift traffic onto the Bayonne Bridge toward Staten Island. The far south tip of the peninsula, where a tank runs dry a mile short of the toll and the last train drops riders at a lot full of cold cars. A tow truck near you at any hour, and a driver who knows where the Port Authority's ground starts.
Empty tanks, bridge ramps and the last train home: towing at the south end of Bayonne
Bergen Point calls are bridge calls and station calls: fuel gone on the Route 440 approach, a stall in the lanes under the span, a dead battery at the 8th Street lot after the last train, and cars parked tight on the streets by the water, all at the same $149 flat booking fee, $129 when you book online.
The Bayonne Bridge approach on Route 440
Route 440 rises onto the bridge from the south end of the peninsula, and the last stretch before the span is where cars run out of fuel, overheat and lose a tire on the debris that collects at the ramp edges. The approach ramps are ours to dispatch to directly. Get to the right if the car still moves, stand behind the barrier if it does not, and tell dispatch which direction you were headed.
On the span itself: what the Port Authority does and what we do
The bridge deck belongs to the Port Authority, and if you stop on it their crews make the first move. Call us anyway. The dispatcher notes where the car is likely to be set down, usually at the foot on the Bayonne side or across in Port Richmond, and our truck takes it from there to your shop at the same quoted figure.
The 8th Street light rail terminus
The end of the Bayonne branch, where the last train from Hoboken unloads after one in the morning. Riders come back to cars that sat all day and will not turn over, or to keys sitting on the seat. Say which side of the station and which row; a jump is the first try and clears most of these for less than a tow.
West 1st Street, the waterfront and the streets to 10th
The blocks along the Kill Van Kull are older, narrow and parked nose to tail, with the water at the end of the street. A car boxed in on West 3rd or a driveway no-start on Avenue C near the foot of the bridge is a wheel-lift job that threads the block from the open end. Give the street, East or West, and the curb.
Dry on the bridge approach? Get to the right, hazards on, and call. The truck comes down 440.

Call nowBergen Point: common questions
Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
I stopped on the Bayonne Bridge itself. Do you come onto the span?
The deck is Port Authority property, so their crews make the first move. Call us anyway: the dispatcher tracks where the car is set down, at the foot on either side, and our truck takes it from there to your shop at the quoted figure.
How long to reach Bergen Point from Linden at night?
It is the opposite end of the peninsula from 14A, so a truck starting at the yard needs the full 25 minutes plus the run down Route 440. One already on 440, or coming back over the bridge from Staten Island, is far closer, and dispatch quotes from that truck.
Will you come to the 8th Street light rail lot after the last train?
Yes, at any hour. Say which side of the station and which row. Most calls there are dead batteries, which a jump clears for less than a tow.
Can you tow from Bergen Point over the bridge to Staten Island?
Yes. Over the Bayonne Bridge into Port Richmond and on to wherever you name is a long-distance run on one quote, with the bridge toll folded in.
Anything else? Ask on the call.
