24 hour towing cost in Bayonne, NJ: $149 flat booking fee, $129 online, and the hour never touches it
The fee is published, the miles are stated on the call, and the time of night is not a factor. Below: what the fee buys, what can legitimately be added, what never is, and how to get your exact total in under a minute.
A Bayonne tow is the $149 booking fee plus the miles to the place you choose, and that is the whole formula
The price of a Bayonne tow is the $149 booking fee ($129 online) with the per-mile charge to your destination added on; winching or dollies come into it only when the car cannot roll or steer, and never before you have heard the figure.
| What | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Booking fee by phone | $149 | Dispatch and hook-up, any hour |
| Booking fee online | $129 | $20 off when you book it yourself |
| Mileage to your destination | Quoted on the call | Before the truck moves. You pick the shop. |
| Jump start · tire · lockout · fuel | One flat price each | No mileage. Tried first when it can solve it. |
| Winch or dollies | Only if the car will not roll | Named before the work, you decide |
| Night, weekend, holiday, fuel surcharge | None | 3 a.m. costs what 3 p.m. costs |
| Storage or release fee | None | The car goes to your shop, not a yard |
The booking fee: $149 by phone, $129 online
Dial and the fee is $149; book online and it is $129. It buys the dispatch and the hook-up, it is the same figure at lunchtime and at 3 a.m., and the $20 difference is what you save by filling in the form the dispatcher would otherwise fill in.
That fee covers cars, SUVs and pickups on either a wheel-lift or a flatbed. A van, a box truck, a bus, a tanker or a tractor is medium or heavy-duty work and gets its own quote.
The miles
After the fee comes a per-mile charge from where the car is to where it is going. Up or down the peninsula, or across the line into Jersey City, that is a modest amount. Staten Island over the bridge, Newark or Elizabeth across the bay, the shore or another state is long distance towing, and the quote for it already includes the tolls and the return trip.
Winching, dollies and recovery
Recovery only applies to a car that cannot roll or steer on its own: crash damage, a flooded block by the bay, the grass in Gregg Park, a steering lock with the wheels turned hard. The dispatcher can usually hear it coming and builds it into the quote. Whatever turns up at the curb is priced out loud before the driver starts.
What never lands on the bill
No line for the hour, none for a weekend or a holiday, none for fuel.
No charge for a rider or two, no storage on a car delivered straight to your shop, no release fee to get it back.
No charge for asking, and the $149 does not climb because the bridge is jammed or it is 4 a.m.
Tell dispatch where the car sits, where it should end up and what it is. The exact number follows.
Get a quote nowBook online · $129Jump start, flat tire, lockout and fuel delivery in Bayonne are one flat price each
Anywhere in Bayonne, a jump start, a tire change, a lockout or a fuel drop is one flat charge, no miles added, and most of the time you drive away afterward instead of watching the car go up on a flatbed.
Jump start
The cruise lot, the station lots and uptown driveways kill batteries every night of the week. Commercial jump packs for gas, diesel and hybrid systems; a battery that is beyond saving turns into a tow priced right there.
Flat tire change
Your spare goes on at the curb or on the Route 440 shoulder. No spare, or two flats from the same pothole, and the car rides to the tire shop you pick at the tow rate.
Car lockout
Keys in the car or the trunk at the 34th Street lot, outside a bar on Broadway or in the Costco lot on the peninsula. Non-marring tools, the glass untouched.
Fuel delivery
Dry on the bridge approach, Kennedy Boulevard or the 14A ramp. Enough gas or diesel to reach a pump, whatever the hour.
Not sure you need a tow? Say that first. The roadside price is the smaller one, and that is where the dispatcher starts.
Call (908) 666-3168What we towWhy a 2 a.m. quote in Bayonne should read exactly like a 2 p.m. quote
Night towing on a peninsula with one road out is where surprise fees hide, so our number is the same after dark as at lunch and it is printed on the receipt; if someone else's quote has an after-hours line on it, that line tells you everything.
There are two reasons a company adds an after-hours charge. Rousting a driver at 2 a.m. costs them, and a person stranded at the foot of the bridge at that hour will pay whatever is asked. We staff the night, which takes care of the first, so the second never arises.
Storage is the quieter cost. A rotation truck that takes your car off Route 440 after a crash delivers it to a yard where the daily meter is already running, and by the time you find the car there are several days of storage and a release fee on top. Choosing your own truck and your own shop makes that whole bill disappear.
Being covered by a roadside plan or an insurer does not mean you have to wait for them. Call us, pay the quoted figure, keep the itemized receipt and file it; at 2 a.m. that is faster than the plan finding someone willing to drive to Bergen Point, and our receipt is laid out the way a claims desk expects.
Ask for the figure. Asking is free, the number is flat, and the hour does not change it.

Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
Is night towing more expensive in Bayonne?
No. Midnight and noon, a holiday and a Tuesday, all carry the same booking fee and the same mileage rate. An after-hours line does not exist on our receipt.
Why does booking online cost $20 less?
You did the typing the dispatcher would have done. If you have the minutes, keep the $20; if you are on a shoulder, call, because getting the truck moving matters more than the difference.
Can the quote change once the driver arrives?
Not the booking fee. The rest is based on what dispatch was told, so if the driver finds something new, say a steering lock or a car that will not roll, he gives you the added figure first and you decide whether to go ahead.
Is there a storage charge?
Not on a car that goes to your shop, dealer or driveway, which is where all of our tows end. If you ask us to hold a car instead, the daily rate is stated before we agree to it.
Will my insurer or roadside plan accept your receipt?
Yes. The booking fee, the miles and any recovery are itemized on it, on paper or by email, in the format claims and reimbursement desks are used to.
How can I pay in the middle of the night?
At the drop-off, with cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or Amex, whatever the hour. Fleets get net terms and one invoice a month.
Anything else? Ask on the call.
